Card games first appeared in Spain and Italy in the 1370 and were introduced in England around 1460.Both lower and higher classes joined together and took part in gambling and several other card games.Playing cards originally had swords, clubs, cups and coins before the French made suits of spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds. |
Animal Games
Bear baiting and bull baiting were very popular forms of entertainment. They would tie the bear or bull to a wooden post in the middle of an arena then unleash bloodthirsty dogs upon them. They would see if the if the bear or bull could withstand the attacks of the dogs. If they survived the would be claimed victorious. |
Theatre
During the days of the plague, actors traveled to many cities performing thier plays to try to reignite the excitement people once had before the plague had took away their loved ones. Famous writers like Shakespeare often performed on grand scales like performing in front of whole cities and they also performed on smaller levels by doing private shows. |
